CHERIE MINETTE, ND, MPH

As a naturopathic physician, I am dedicated to treating patients holistically and naturally.  Recognizing the body's innate ability to heal itself, I employ natural therapies to promote the body's own healing mechanisms during times of illness.  My primary focus is to eliminate the underlying cause of ill health, rather than to just treat the symptoms.  Understanding that each patient is a unique individual, I tailor my treatment plans to specifically meet the needs of each person.

Providing health care for all stages of life, I treat a wide range of health conditions, both acute and chronic. In practice, I use natural therapies such as herbal medicine, homeopathy, dietary counseling, hydrotherapy, and nutritional supplements to restore the body to health.  I work closely with other health professionals, including acupuncturists, psychotherapists, and medical doctors in order to achieve complete and total healing.  Using the most appropriate interventions, I help patients re-establish their natural state of health.

I received my doctorate from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Arizona , where I was granted the award for High Academic Achievement . Before attending medical school, I completed a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion and Education at the University of South Carolina. While studying, I worked as an intern for the department of nutrition, teaching classes and devising interventions for overweight children. My undergraduate degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from USC. As part of my educational training, I also worked for Natural Doctors International. This worldwide agency strives to incorporate naturopathic medicine into global health care by delivering natural therapies to underserved communities in Third World countries.
